A custom corrugated box is made from fluted paperboard — a wavy medium glued between two liners — which is what gives cardboard its stiffness-to-weight ratio. Flute profile (E, B, C, BC, EB) determines wall thickness, print quality and crush resistance, and choosing it correctly is the core decision in any corrugated spec.

  • Flute matched to the job. We specify E, B, C or double-wall against your weight and route rather than defaulting to one grade.
  • Paper-based protection. Dividers and pads die-cut from the same board replace foam and plastic air pillows.
  • Highest recycling recovery. Corrugated is recovered at over 85% across our 24 markets when left unlaminated.
  • Scales to freight volumes. The same artwork runs from 100 units digitally up to six-figure flexo runs.

What are custom corrugated boxes?

Flute size is a trade-off. E-flute is 1.5 mm and prints almost like a folding carton; B-flute is 3 mm and adds puncture resistance; C-flute is 4 mm and is the standard shipping grade; double-wall BC combines the two for stacking strength. The finer the flute, the better the print and the worse the compression performance.

Corrugated is also the most recycled packaging material in North America and Europe, with recovery rates consistently above 85%. That makes it the default choice for brands with published sustainability targets — provided you avoid full-surface plastic lamination, which pushes the box out of the kerbside paper stream.

Beyond boxes, corrugated supports the whole pack: fitments, pads, dividers and layer sheets can all be die-cut from the same board in the same run, which is usually cheaper and more recyclable than importing foam or plastic void fill.

Standard slotted carton, lowest board waste, machine-erectable.

Die-cut mailer

One-piece tuck-top in E- or B-flute for branded parcels.

Two-piece stackable format for produce, hardware and case-ready retail.

Corrugated inserts and dividers

Partitioned cells that hold bottles, jars and components apart in transit.

Materials

E-flute (1.5 mm)
Best print surface, light protection, retail-visible packaging.
B-flute (3 mm)
Balanced puncture and crush resistance; the default for ecommerce shippers.
C-flute (4 mm)
Classic shipping grade with the best stacking strength per unit cost.
BC double-wall (7 mm)
Heavy, fragile or export loads; highest compression rating.

Printing & finishing options

Popular custom corrugated boxes sizes

Every order is cut to your interior dimensions — these are the sizes customers request most often, and a useful starting point if you are not sure where to begin.

10 x 8 x 6 inGeneral ecommerce parcel
14 x 10 x 8 inCase packs and multi-unit orders

How to choose custom corrugated boxes

  1. Match flute to failure mode

Crushing in a stack means you need a heavier flute; puncture damage means you need B over E.

  2. Design the fitment with the box

Corrugated dividers cost less than foam and keep the whole pack in one recycling stream.

  3. Avoid full plastic lamination

It improves scuff resistance but removes the box from kerbside paper recycling.

  4. Test before you scale

Order a 100-unit sample run and ship it on your real route before committing to 10,000.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between E, B and C flute?
E-flute is about 1.5 mm thick with the best print surface, B-flute is about 3 mm with good puncture resistance, and C-flute is about 4 mm with the best stacking strength. Double-wall BC combines B and C for heavy freight.
Are corrugated boxes strong enough for heavy products?
Yes, when specified correctly. Single-wall 32 ECT handles roughly 20 kg, 44 ECT roughly 30 kg, and double-wall grades take considerably more. Tell us the packed weight and we will specify the grade with a safety margin.
Can corrugated boxes be printed in full colour?
Yes. Digital and litho-laminated printing both give full-colour photographic results on E-flute. On heavier flutes, flexographic spot colour is the more economical route.
Are custom corrugated boxes recyclable?
Corrugated is the most-recovered packaging material in North America and Europe, above 85%. Keep it kerbside-recyclable by using water-based inks and avoiding full-surface plastic lamination.
What is the minimum order for corrugated boxes?
100 units per size on digital production. Flexographic runs become more economical from around 2,000 units, and prices tier again at 5,000 and 10,000.
Can you supply corrugated inserts and dividers?
Yes. Partitions, pads, layer sheets and die-cut fitments are produced from the same board in the same run, which is normally cheaper and more recyclable than foam.
